Introduction to Portrait Retouching

Hi everyone.

Last Saturday I had my first Workshop for London Photographic Meetup and I must admit I was a bit nervous.

Not about the workshop itself, but how the attendees would react to the so called Introduction, as Photoshop is so complex and not knowing the attendees I didn’t know how much they knew about Photoshop and what each and every member of the group would consider “Introduction”.

But I must admit, I feel over the moon, I gave some business cards away so if they had any queries they could email me or even call me and half  an hour after the Workshop ended I got a text message and I quote:

“Thanks Miguel, you were brilliant, everyone got loads out of it including and specially me!Lets arrange the next one soon!”

Then I got 5 star rating out of 5 with some cool comments and I will quote:

“Very interesting afternoon, I do not know the software but thought that Miguel put over the basic tools very well and his enthusiasm was fantastic. As a Lightroom user the afternoon of photoshop gives me a dilemma .well done Alex and Miguel”

“Many thanks to Miguel for a great introduction as to what can be done in Photoshop.”

“Fantastic”

And as it wasn’t enough I got some emails about it, and of course I quote them:

“Hi Miguel
Sorry I didn’t have time to stay and thank you properly yesterday… but I had an appt that I was running late for and had to rush off.  But thanks again you demonstrated lots of great stuff and I know the members were really happy with the things they learned.”

Hi Miguel,
I hope you are well since yesterday, it was really nice meeting you and everyone else.
Thank you so much again for a fascinating course in the world of Photoshop!! Now I just need to practice 🙂
I’ve already checked the Photoshop Elements11 on Amazon and will get it next week.”

The last comment was about an attendee who didn’t have Photoshop but was very excited about it.

Overall, I had great fun!Everything went very well and I am looking forward for the next one.

Might I add that there are people who could not attend that want me to do another one!

Now I fell much better and as for the next Workshop….Bring it on as the Members of this meetup are the best!

And thanks to Alex  for the invitation.

I am done for now, but before that I am going to share the “teaser”.

Take care,

Miguel

Lightroom 5 Beta Crash at Startup

Hi everyone.

It has been an amazing week, lots of cool stuff was announced  by Adobe.

One of the coolest things announced by them was the Public Beta release of Lightroom 5.There are so many cool feautures, and the performance improved soooooo much!I love it!

But before I fell in love with it I had a problem, every time I tried to open Lightroom 5 it would crash.I wasn’t surprised at all as my Windows 8 machine still causes me lots of headaches in Photoshop, so I installed in my Windows 7 machine, and it worked first time.

After searching the internet and a few tips from good people from the Photoshop and Lightroom on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/groups/pshopandlightroom/ ) I managed to make it working on my Windows 8 machine, so I had to do a tutorial on how to fix the problem.

The sound quality is not the best, so I am so sorry for that, but at least you will be able to try Lightroom 5 Beta.

To download go to http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom5/

Have a great and sunny Weekend .

Take care,

Miguel

Introduction to Portrait Retouching

Hi.

Today I have great news!
For a long time me and Alex the organizer of London Photographic Meetup http://www.meetup.com/londonphotos/ ) been organizing some Photoshop Workshops, but because there are a lot of people out there that either don’t know much about Photoshop or don’t feel comfortable with it, so I came up with Introduction to Portrait Retouching.

This workshop was created thinking about the many retouching techniques that Photoshop has to offer, but also thinking of those who don’t have the experience or confidence to use it.  This workshop is aimed at the beginner.

In this workshop you’ll learn to correct white balance, colour correct the image, add contrast, but why stop there?   We will also learn how to use remove blemishes, add detail to eyes, clarity, saturation versus vibrance, fix eyes and lips, contour the face, use creative sharpening, clone stamp tool versus healing brush, whiten teeth and more.

We will be using Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw and I will show you that most of the techniques can be achieved in Photoshop Elements, so if there are any Photoshop Elements users you can come along as well.

It will be an awesome day and I am really excited about it 🙂

So if you are in London and want to join me book your seat sooner rather than later as seats are limited  ( http://www.meetup.com/londonphotos/events/111519612/ )

Take care,

Miguel
